Why do you lose weight on high protein diets, and is it healthy for you ?
Moisturizers or Anti-Aging Creams can not penetrate past the epidermis! See: Skin Facts
Despite the magic results promised by ads; There are no Anti-Aging Creams, lotions or moisturizes that will make your wrinkles go away!
The objectivity by your Cosmetic Companies and One of the Biggest Misconceptions lead about moisturizers is that these products hydrate the skin. The truth is that moisturizers lock in the skins own moisture to prevent dryness and cracking it. More or less these products create a barrier between the skin and the air, temporarily maintaining your skin's natural moisture by keeping the water in the skin. (Not replacing moisture as you may have thought)
So therefore there are no Anti-Aging Cream , lotions or moisturizes that will make your wrinkles go away, all moisturizers really do is help plump up the skin temporary! The key factor to youthful skin is to learn the ingredients and how they work on choosing products. To me that is the only way to achieve your goal and to prevent yourself from getting ripped off by cosmetic companies.
The Secrets Cosmetic Companies Don't Want You to Know!
1. Did you know in 1938, the FDA granted self-regulation to the cosmetics industry—allowing the industry to determine what to put into products, regardless of what tests showed!
The truth is, products are not always safe and manufacturers don’t have to tell us so. Did you know a cosmetic manufacturer may use any ingredient or raw material and market the final product without government approval! I just want you to really think about what that means....They don't have to test the ingredients they put in their products, so therefore they can be outright toxic over a long-term use and they can claim that the product can do this, and it can do that... with out proof! Oh sure... they can claim it has been tested, and it has...by a bunch of women who got paid to say their product works!
So here is the bottom-line: pretty much the cosmetic companies can say and do anything they want too to make the old mighty dollar even if the chemicals they our using in their products contains toxic by-products and claim that their product will erase your wrinkles at either your wallet's or your health expense and get rich doing it!
Very Important: Of the hundreds of toxic chemicals used in personal and skin care products here are some of the “worst offenders” to describe. If you learn about even these few and start reading ingredient labels, you can avoid some of the most serious carcinogenic and hormone-disrupting chemicals. See: toxic ingredients for more information
2. * Here is my favorite Secret with labeling: Any ingredient present under 1% concentration may be listed in any order as long as it is listed after all of the other ingredients present at or above 1%. Sounds reasonable.... right? Not! Because the major problem with this is that there is no guideline to disclose where the 1% cut off exists on the label!
3. Getting Ripped Off by Cosmetic Claims: Despite cosmetic advertising claims, almost all available topical formulations contain very low (less than 1%) concentrations of antioxidants and active ingredients to be affective! Think about it for just a moment... have you ever seen the % of ingredients on any skin care products? The answer is NO. They are not by law require to give the consumer the percentages of the ingredients they are pushing, and they are never going too! The reason why is because the amount of percentage needed to be effective is much higher than what is in their products. These cosmetic companies are getting rich from selling you nothing more than inexpensive water and oil emulsion, thickeners, emulsifier, and preservatives with just a dribble of active ingredients! My way around this is to make your own anti-aging creams and use products that are of professional strength which can not be found over the counter. See: Beauty Products
4 * Stop giving into the Miracle in a Jar! Cosmetic Companies can tell you anything they want, and not be liable for it! Because... they are not required by law to test their products for their claims! And when you see the money back guarantee with these large companies; "it sounds good... doesn't it?" Makes you think the product works. Doesn't it? But it is just another marketing tool out-weighting the profits. How many people do you really think are going to take the time in their busy life’s to return a product? Believe me...not as many as the thousands and thousands of products these large companies have sold!

The First Step to Buying Moisturizers is a little Knowledge
How Creams and Lotions are Made: Creams and lotions are made by combining oil-based and water-based ingredients, and are therefore the only skin care applications that have at the same time moisturising and nourishing effects. The water (or water-based ingredients) supply the "moisturising" properties, and the oils or fats the "nourishing" properties. Lotions and creams are emulsions mainly, either (oil in water) with the lesser portion of oil dispersed in the greater portion of water or (water in oil). Most commercially available lotions and creams are mineral oil based which is very bad for your skin! See: Toxic Ingredients and they are water emulsions, Or (water in oil).
However in order to sell their products the actual active ingredients may be listed by itself. This ingredient is what does the actual work in a product. That does not mean it is the ingredient present in the highest concentration! Take Anti-Aging creams for example. Vitamin A (retinyl palmitate and retinol), or vitamin C (ascorbyl palmitate and magnesium ascorbyl palmitate) may be listed as the active ingredient. Although these active ingredients may not be present in the greatest percent concentration, it is what makes the product an Anti-Aging cream. So it becomes listed first as the active ingredient. The other inactive ingredients are present to help create the vehicle and possibly enhance its effectiveness.

Learn How Ingredients Work: How can you buy an anti-aging cream or moisturizer with out learning what the ingredients do for the skin. That's like buying a bottle of wine without knowing if it is a red or white wine, and if it is a dry, or a sweet wine! You have to know what you are buying... what is in the product, what is the active ingredients and how they work, along with the strength percentage to find out if it is going to be effective (over 1%), or just a waste of your money!
